Cheryl Werner grew up in New Haven, VT and graduated from Cornell University with a degree in horticulture. Now she teaches agricultural science at the Hannaford Career Center in Middlebury. On the tree farm, she specializes in making wreaths, centerpieces, and other similar products, and manages the farm's taxes and accounting. Marion Werner moved to Vermont with her husband Fredrick and their five children in the 70s. She currently volunteers at Project Independence and at Porter hospital. On the tree farm she works with customer service. David Werner arrived in Vermont during his senior year in high school, and has stayed ever since. He briefly worked in forestry before switching to carpentry, specializing in custom-designed houses. Today he works primarily as a general contractor. On the tree farm, he focuses on shearing, garland making, directs the planting and handles buying and selling. Amanda Werner graduated with a B.A. in History from Skidmore College in New York. On the tree farm, her specialties are customer service and making and designing wreaths, kissing balls and centerpieces. Jessie Werner graduated with a B.A. in Biology from Colby College in Maine. She plans on going to vet school to work with large animals. On the tree farm, her main focuses are customer service, making garland and kissing balls. William Werner is working for MBL at Woods Hole these days, so he won't be around much. Still, you might see him up for a weekend or two helping out. Alicia Richardson is a close friend of the Werner family and a long-time employee of the tree farm during the Christmas season. She is now head elf, and spends most of her time helping customers and making wreaths. A few years ago around Christmas time, Noel- "Ellie" wandered onto our farm. She was a stray kitten at the time, and took to living in the Christmas Shop, which resulted in a marked decline in its mouse population. We adopted her, and when Christmas season comes around she moves out into the Christmas shop with us again. She is friendly and adventurous, but on busy days sometimes gets overwhelmed with all the people coming in and hides. |
